i) Between Dand C

ii) 4th to the right of E

iii) 2nd to the left of D

iv) To the immediate right of A

Type of Ranking Arrangement

Ranking is an important topic of competitive test question paper under logical reasoning portion; it involves arranging the position or ranks of an object or a person from left to right or top to bottom.

This we will solve by formula, that is

Total number of persons = sum of number of the same person from both side -1

Now let us see this with an example: –

In a row of students position of Amit from right side of row is 27th and from left his position is 24th. How many students are there in the row?

Formula

Total number of persons = sum of number of the same person from both side -1

So,

(27 + 24) -1 = 51 -1 = 50

Answer is 50

When we want to find the position of a person fromanother side the formula, that is

Position of a person from another side = total number of people position of that person given side+1

If in a row of 32 person Chirag ‘s position from left side of row is 22nd what is the position of Chirag in from right side of the row?

As per formula,

32 – 22= 10+1= 11

So, answer is 11
