SSC GD selection process, which also called the Staff Selection Commission, General Duty, has brought to you an opportunity to work in the security force. This process includes various post like Constable GD in the Border Security Force, Constable GD in Secretariat Security Force, Constable GD in Central Industrial Security Force, Constable GD in the National Investigation Agency, Constable GD in Indo Tibetan Border Police Force etc.

What is the function/ Work of SSC GD?

The function or work given to the appointed person is to guard.  SSC GD is the support staff for a sub-inspector and Assistant Sub-inspector and also looks after all duties/ work in the absence of them. Not only the duties but the SSC GD may also get cases to investigate. Staff Selection Commission, General Duty Selection Process is open for both male and females. What is the eligibility criteria for applying the SSC GD position?

  • Firstly the qualifications required to apply this selection process is class 10th pass from a recognized board or institution.
  • Secondly the minimum age required is Eighteen plus (18+)

What are the mandatory Examination/ Test for SSC GD?

Total four test rounds are conducted in SSC GD selection process

First is Computer Based Test (CBT), second is Physical Standards Test(PST) /Physical Efficiency Test (PET), third is the Medical Test and fourth is the document verification.

Computer Based Test is the Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) to be solved and the language in which this test is conducted is only English and Hindi. This test is taken to check the basic knowledge, elementary mathematics, general awareness of the candidate.  Candidate passed the standard marks required will be eligible for the next round.

Physical Standards Test/Physical Efficiency Test includes the Physical fitness test. Various physical activity test is taken and medical test. Physical test includes the height, chest and weight measurement of a candidate is checked and to check the Efficiency of candidate the Race is conducted. The passing criteria are different for male and female.

The Medical Test includes vision (eyesight) and hearing capacity check. Apart from this Dental examination, standing examination, Lower Extremities Examination.

The candidates whosoever passed the physical and medical test is allowed for the next round.

Document verification is done for two Documents like Admit card, proof for the Date of Birth, Educational certificates, Domicile, identity proof, category certificate is applicable, medical certificate, and other supporting documents.

The candidate must pass/ clear all the four test/ examination to qualify the SSC GD Examination.

Reasons of Rejection in Medical Test are – candidate found with chronic disease like tuberculosis, syphilis, or other venereal disease, rheumatoid/ any type of arthritis, hypertension etc.

Bronchial disease like Asthma, chronic Tonsillitis & Adenoids etc.
