PAPER – I

THEORY OF AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING, MOTOR VEHICLES REPAIRS, ETC.

N.B.-

(1) Solve any Foe questions.

(2) Draw diagrams wherever necessary

(a) Comparison of two stroke and four stroke engines

(c) Antilock Brake Systems (ABS).

  1. State the causes and remedies for the following troubles (any four):-

(a) Hard Gear Shifting

(b) Sagging String

(c) Wheel Wobble

(d) Brake Fade

(e) Frequent burning out of bulbs.

  1. Describe in detail the most common trouble occurring on account of ‘ wheels ‘ and ‘ tyres ‘.
  2. Which are the advance active safety systems adopted in automobile? Describe each system in brief.
  3. Explain most common troubles and their remedies for the following automobile systems:-

(a) Electrical System

(b) Clutch System

  1. What are the objects of suspension? Describe the different suspension systems and their comparative advantages over each other.

PAPER -II

MOTOR VEHICLES ACT, CENTRAL MOTOR VEHICLES RULES AND MAHARASHTRA MOTOR VEHICLES RULES

PAPER – III

BOMBAY MOTOR VEHICLES TAX ACT, 1958 AND RULES, 1959, BOMBAY MOTOR VEHICLE (TAXATION ON PASSENGER) ACT, 1958 ETC.

  1. (a) Explain the procedure for seizure and detention of motor vehicle in case of nonpayment of tax.

(b) Explain the provisions for Fleet Owners.

(a) Transport Vehicle brought into this state on temporary permit.

(b) Arrears of Tax as a arrears of Land Revenue.

PAPER IV

INDIAN PENAL CODE, CRIMINAL PROCEDURE CODE, ETC.

FINANCIAL RULES, BOMBAY BUDGET MANUAL, ETC.

  1. (a) Explain in details, how departmental controlling officer act on budget to control expenditure.

(b) Write short notes:-

(i) Watching progress of Revenue (Receipts)

(ii) Revised Estimates.

(a) Types of Pensions

(b) Procedure adopted for punishment under Rule-8

(c) Different entries to be taken by Head of Office in the service book of Government Employee and the procedure for the same.

(d) Study Leave (Explain in regarding – types, competent authority to sanction, period, joining time, pay etc.).

(e)Explain in details foreign service in regarding terms and conditions, pay fixation, leave, joining time, leave salary and pension contribution, etc.

PAPER – VI

GENERAL TRANSPORT PROBLEMS, ETC.

(1) Question No. one is compulsory.

(2) Answer any two questions from the remaining.

(b) Requirement of Brake Test Track while conducting fitness test for transport vehicles.

(c) General complaints received from passengers regarding auto rickshaw and solutions to minimize those.

(d) Provisions for speed governor and its necessity to reduce the accidents.

(e) How to spread awareness regarding road safety among school / college student and to increase their participation?

  1. Write a detailed report on traffic related problems emerging due to heavy increase in number of vehicles following urbanization. Also provide effective solutions.
  2. Write a note on main causes of road accidents and suggest effective measures to reduce the road accidents.
  3. Prepare a proposal on how the Motor Vehicle Department can be made more people oriented and become more efficient to fulfill the increasing expectations of citizens.
