MPSC Departmental Examination for Assistant Inspector Post Recruitment in the Motor Vehicle Department – 2017 Question Paper

PAPER – I

Vehicle lay-out engines, internal combustion engine. Automobile elements. Etc.

N.B:-

(1) Marks for each question have been indicated in the margin.

(2) Draw necessary diagrams and sketches where ever necessary. (3) Candidate should not write roll number, any name (including his/her own), signature, address or any indication of his/her identity anywhere inside the answer book otherwise he/she will be penalized.

(4) Candidate are expected to answer all the sub questions of a question together. If sub question of a question is attempted elsewhere (after leaving a few pages or are attempting another question) the later sub question shall be overlooked.

(5) Answer are to be written in one language only either in Marathi or in English.

  1. Write short notes on (any four):-

(a) Uneven tyre wear and its reasons.

(b) Function of master cylinder.

(c) Gear box.

(d) Electrical system of a vehicle.

(e) Turning radius.

  1. Explain in detail the suspension system of the vehicle with suitable diagram.
  2. Distinguish between:-

(a) Four stroke and two stroke engine.

(b) Air cooling and water cooling.

  1. Explain in detail the cooling system with suitable diagram.
  2. Explain in detail the transmission system of a Vehicle with suitable diagram.

PAPER – II

MOTOR VEHICLES, ACT. 1988 AND CENTRAL MOTOR VEHICLES RULES, 1989, ETC.

(1) All questions carry marks as mentioned in right side.

(2) Marks will be deducted for copying the matter from books.

(3) Candidate should not write roll number, any name (including his/her own), signature, address or any indication of his/her identity anywhere inside the answer book otherwise he/she will be penalized.

(4) Candidates are expected to answer all the sub questions of a question together. If sub question of a question is attempted elsewhere (after leaving a few pages or after attempting another question) the later sub question shall be overlooked.

Paper on Bombay motor vehicles tax act. 1958, Bombay motor vehicles tax rules, 1959 and Bombay motor vehicles tax (taxation on passenger), act, 1958 and rules there under
