Water conservation officer recruitment exam pattern:
The examination for the post of 670 Water Conservation officer released by the Department of soil and water conservation will be taken in total two stages. First there will be a computer based online test and second stage is personal interview. Those who will clear the computer based test will be allowed for the personal interview round and based on the results of personal interview final candidates will be selected.
The computer based exam will be for the duration of 120 minutes. The total number of questions in the test will be 100 each carrying 2 marks making the total marks for the exam 200.

There will be total 5 topics in the computer based exam which are

- English language
- General knowledge
- Reasoning
- Civil Engineering
The number of questions for Marathi, English, General Knowledge and Reasoning will 10 for each topic and there will be 60 questions from Civil Engineering. The language for the questions of General knowledge and reasoning will be given in both English and Marathi. However, the language for the questions of Civil Engineering will be given only in English.

Syllabus for the water conservation officer

English Language: The knowledge of synonyms or similar meaning words, Antonym or opposite Words, Common Vocabulary used in daily life, basic understanding of Sentence Structure in Grammar, Use of Idioms and phrases & familiarity with their meanings and comprehension skills of unseen English passage will be checked in this section.
General Knowledge: The knowledge of recent Current Affairs, World history as well as Indian History especially the History of Maharashtra, Geography of the state of Maharashtra, Indian Economy , Indian polity & Government and the Indian climate and Environment will be tested in this section.
Reasoning: In this section the examiner will test and try to understand how quickly and accurately the candidates can think and solve the given problem. In this section puzzles, seating arrangements, blood relation, alphanumeric series, number series and such topics related problems are usually given.
