MPSC is one tuff exam which is conducted all across Maharashtra to get the best talent from the crowd and provide them with best jobs available with the government. Criteria

The minimum age of the candidate should be 19 years whereas the maximum age varies depending upon the category mentioned below:

General: 38 yrs
Reserved/orphans: 43 yrs
Ex-servicemen: 43 yrs
Sportsperson: 43 yrs

Syllabus And Exam Pattern

Now coming to the most important part of preparation for any exam, that is , the syllabus. MPSC loosely follows the syllabus of UPSC and therefore candidates preparing for MPSC can also attempt UPSC with confidence as the syllabus matches and a lot of confidence is boosted when you give parallel exams and do well.

Below are the listed topics suggested by the organizing body to go through for preparation of the exam. We suggest you to go through various books which are provided by our website to prepare well enough so that you can clear many exams on the basis of this syllabus.

MPSC RAJYASEVA EXAM SYLLABUS

Preliminary Exam

Exam Plan:-

Paper I – (200 marks)

Current events of state, national and international importance. (2) History of India (with special reference to Maharashtra) and Indian National Movement. (3) Maharashtra, India and World Geography – Physical, Social, Economic Geography of Maharashtra, India and the World. (4) Maharashtra and India – Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj,Urban Governance, Public Policy, Rights issues, etc. (5) Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc. (6) General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change-that do not require subject specialisation. (7) General Science.

Paper II- (200 marks)

(1) Comprehension

(2) Interpersonal skills including communication skills.

(3) Logical reasoning and analytical ability.

(4) Decision – making and problem – solving.

(5) General mental ability.

(6) Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.)

(Class X level), Data interpretation (Charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc.- Class X level)

(7) Marathi and English Language Comprehension skills (Class X/XII level).

Preliminary exam

Paper l: Paper 1 consists of 100 questions carrying 200 marks total to be solved in 2hrs which are objective and based of the graduation level knowledge that you carry.
Paper ll : Paper 2 consists of 80 questions carrying a total of 200 marks to be solved in 2hrs and are objective in nature based on school as well graduation knowledge.

MPSC Sate Service – Rajya Seva Mains paper

Mains has a total of 6 papers which consists of different pattern but are all available in Marathi as well as in English and are described below:

Paper -l : Essay and translation for 100 marks to be solved in 3hrs based on 12^th class knowledge. It is a descriptive paper to be written by the applicants.
Paper ll : Grammar and comprehension for 100 marks to be solved in 1hr based on 12^th class knowledge. It is objective in nature (MCQs)
Paper lll, IV, V and VI all are general studies papers having different syllabus as per your choice of subject of 150 marks each to be solved in 2hrs each and all are objective type papers (MCQs).

Interview :

Interview round of the candidates are taken after clearing all the papers by the commission panel itself to evaluate aptitude, communication skills , decision making skills and presence of mind of the candidate . They check whether the candidate can be a responsible officer in near future or not and decides on the basis of skills.

Our only suggestion to candidates appearing for interview will be: be confident, don’t panic and answer the questions firmly.

EXAM ANALYSIS

Like every year , this year also we will be providing exam analysis to help students know how much they attempted to qualify. Papers are either tuff or easy and depending upon that the cut offs are decided. To get to the cut off , a student requires consistent efforts and knowledge and thus should prepare accordingly.
